DUVROC was formed in late November 2003 by a group of Vulcan Riders & Owners Club members living in Australia and New Zealand who are active on the VROC newsgroup but had little to look forward to when it came to VROC events in our areas.
Tired of missing all the fun of the large VROC gatherings in the United States and Canada we decided it was time to throw a net out over our immediate population of Vulcan riders and see if we can haul them into a group that can organise its own activities, meetings, ride days and events.
We noticed the proliferation of VROC subgroups in various areas/states/cities of the USA and Canada with members enjoying each others company on regular ride days in their local area, some of them touring together and many of them gathering for large meetings (Parties) with other clubs on a regular basis. It was decided that if we could plant the seeds of this organisation "down under" it may just grow into something comparable.
Hopefully we can encourage members in various states and regions to form groups in a similar fashion with the aim of an annual meeting which we can all attend. Volunteers will be sought to act as a main contact person for riders in their area for this reason.
Being members of VROC we also noticed that as most members are from North America some subjects that are spoken about on the newsgroup sometimes have very little to do with us... cultural, historical, political and geographical differences can sometimes make it difficult for for us to keep up with what's going on. That's where DUVROC hopes to come to the fore with relevant information for Aussies and Kiwis.
Which companies in the around the world will deliver down under and who offers the best deals and service?
Who in the hell is WOMPUS and why does he dislike Stonewall?
Where can I get Vulcan parts and accessories locally?
Which local Kawasaki Dealers are prepared to do you a good deal and then back it up with good service?
Why do the Aussies always seem to beat the Kiwi's in sport?
Why don't our American friends use proper terms.......like.....Fender = Mudguard, Tire = Tyre etc...etc...etc...
We hope that we can use this web site to answer all of the above questions and more.
